The complications women face in Nepal are relatively high, especially for Single and differently-abled women and mothers who face problems regarding discrimination, social stigma, and stereotypes that hinder their personal development as well as professional development. Research shows that in Nepal only 26.3% of women are employed actively whereas many find themselves trapped in informal employment sectors with little opportunity for career growth and development.

At Yes Helping Hand we work hand in hand to change the current situation of women in employment and empowerment sectors. We believe the relationship between the organization and women is correlated and dependent upon each other for the shared mission of community empowerment and providing platform and opportunities together, they confront pressing societal challenges, from poverty to gender discrimination, creating a ripple effect of positive change.

This production process is about more than just creating beautiful items; it’s about preserving traditional craftsmanship while carving out pathways for empowerment.

Along with artisans and leaders, the helpers help customers choose the cashmere, explain them, and help them with their needs. These individuals also have a crucial role in the sales and marketing of the organization. They help people know about the artisans and people behind every product, which not only builds emotional connections with the customer but also raises awareness of the challenges faced by the women, disabled, and marginalized people of our community, and brings people around the world closer to standing for a change.

The mission that started with two trainees has grown into 180 employment opportunities created giving a voice to the voiceless, standing firm and steady for the needy and marginalized people, especially single mothers and specially abled individuals of Nepal.

According to the World Bank, women's labor and empowerment participation is significantly low in Nepal, and social enterprises like Yes Helping Hand actively work to close the gender gap by providing skillful job training and a supportive environment. Yes Helping Hand equips individuals with the tools they need to succeed, increasing their participation in the national workforce.

At Yes helping hand, We believe in Empowerment through Employment in Nepal.  Founded in 2011 in Pokhara, Nepal, our mission is clear: to empower specially-abled individuals, marginalized groups, and single mothers by providing free training, employment, and a chance to reclaim their independence. 

One of the main ways, Yes Helping Hand empowers the community is by providing fair employment opportunities. Many of our workers face physical disabilities or socioeconomic hardships, which limit their access to traditional job markets, by offering hands-on training in traditional Nepali handicrafts like Cashmere Weaving, Dhaka weaving, hand knitting, and carpet knotting. Yes Helping Hand opens doors to sustainable employment,  allowing workers to earn a fair wage and support their families.
