Every poncho and cape shawl is handcrafted by skilled artisans at Yes Helping Hand in Nepal using traditional embroidery, bit work, and weaving techniques. No factories, no mass production. Your purchase directly funds special training programs.
A cashmere poncho is one of the most versatile pieces in a woman's wardrobe, it works as a top, a layer, or a wrap depending on how you wear it. Here are three ways to make it yours:
For Everyday Casual
Wear your handwoven cashmere plain poncho over slim jeans or leggings with ankle boots. Belt it loosely at the waist to create shape, or let it drape freely for a relaxed look. The poncho wrap style works especially well here, it moves with you all day.
For Travel
A lightweight cashmere poncho is the ideal travel companion. It folds into almost nothing, keeps you warm on long flights, and looks polished enough to wear straight off the plane. Pair the cashmere blend natural poncho with a button with neutral trousers for a put-together look that goes from airport to dinner.
For Formal or Evening Wear
Drape a natural handloom cashmere cape shawl over a fitted dress or tailored suit for an elegant finishing layer. The open-front silhouette of a cape shawl maintains a structured look while adding warmth and texture, a winter cashmere poncho alternative for dressier occasions.
Not all cashmere is the same. The cashmere used in every Yes Helping Hand poncho and cape shawl comes from the Himalayan region and is graded at 12–16 microns in fiber diameter, finer than most commercially available cashmere, which typically ranges from 16–19 microns.
Finer micron count means the fiber is softer against your skin, less prone to pilling, and far warmer relative to its weight. A single cashmere wool poncho from our collection weighs less than 200g yet provides more warmth than a much heavier synthetic alternative.
All our cashmere ponchos are designed as free-size garments, one size fits all body types, from XS to XXL. Here's what that looks like in actual dimensions:

Pure cashmere is a natural fiber that rewards gentle care. Follow these simple steps to keep your poncho or cape shawl soft and beautiful for years.
• Hand wash in cold or lukewarm water using a mild detergent or baby shampoo.
• Do not wring or twist, gently press out excess water, and roll in a clean towel.
• Lay flat to dry on a clean surface away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
• Store folded, not on a hanger, as hanging cashmere distorts the shape over time.
• Store in a breathable cotton bag with a cedar block to prevent moth damage.
If your poncho develops small pills over time, this is completely normal for natural cashmere. Use a cashmere comb or fabric shaver to gently remove them it will look as good as new.
